New deep house debutante Pierre Marty stops off with the Berlin label Tunnel with 'Lunchbreak In Mitte', an unhurried dance record recalling the act of ambling through and/or breaking fast in the Northeastern Berlin district of Mitte. Riffing off the back of a fondly remembered live set, which Marty debuted at Le Chant de Ouiseaux in 2023, A-siders 'Ode To Jules' and 'Bbox' bring dashes of romance and sheen to sonic intentions of togetherness and friendship. The tracks while the floor-time away, with Anglophone murmurations and light flecks of synth chroma; meanwhile, B-siders 'Feel It' and 'Snake Jazz' move much weirder, their relatively uprooted sound serving as joint actors in the creation of a sonic flotation device, through dreamy utterances and modularised fidgets.
