Local drum extraordinaire Phil Stroud heads up Perth, Western Australia based Good Company Records; a young imprint which thus far has had a handful of releases by lo-fi techno merchants Senate, a certain Long Body and a fellow named Hugo Gerani; who used to be Eleventeen Eston. The label has garnered quite a following internationally and these guys may well be the next best thing from the city which brought us (recently) recognised legends such as Ewan Jansen and Justin Zerbst. With the exception of the deep baleraica of "Flow" and the sublime ambient bliss of "Middle East", the tracks on GCR006 are, for the most part, tribal polyrhythmic workouts are absolutely amazing and sit somewhere between the spiritual life music of Joe Claussell circa the Language LP and more recently the work of Berlin's Don't DJ. Prepare to enter the exotic!
