Chasing what they call a second, giddy adolescence, three-piece Phantastic Ferniture! ditch their independant solo careers for a new project in the form of a debut, self titled album. The Australian band, spearheaded by Julia Jacklin (see her 2016 LP 2016, Don't Let the Kids Win), was apparently formed in the basement of a Sydney pizza joint, and it's been their first single "Fuckin 'n' Rollin" that's now defining their melancholic and sometimes ironic take on suburban folk. It's an album for a not so wasted youth still unready to commit themselves to mortgages and day jobs, but rather campfires and festivals by the sea. With more mellow moments to be found, it's clearly the dancier side of free flowing guitars and reverberating vocals they wish to bring to the fore, backed up by a label that brought us Foals.
