Comprised of Demdike Stare's Sean Canty, Andy Votel, Jane Weaver and N. Racker, NeoTantrik is a veritable avant-garde supergroup, combining transcendent electronics with distinctly Eastern textures and macabre European musical elements. Recorded over the last 12 months, Intervisions collects sets from appearances in Bristol, Rotterdam and Stockport. Even those familiar with the output of Canty and Votel will be caught unawares by the mindbending nature of Intervisions; "Intervisionary Heretic" in particular feels like a never-ending meditative experience. The other tracks are similarly strung out; "Sous Le Meme Soleil, Disparu Dans Le Ciel" comes on with the basic structure of early Cluster while "Xian Octagon" gargles with the sounds of what sounds like audio culled from decaying film reels. As with anything blessed with the touch of Votel and Canty, this is highly recommended stuff.
