Having launched the An-I alias last year with a pair of throbbing analogue techno EPs, Doug Lee has decided to put it to another use. Here, he delivers a pair of undeniably apocalyptic re-edits of tracks from obscure Italian minimal wave, industrial and EBM combo Musumeci. Lee gets deep into the groove on "Harry Batasuna", extending the throbbing, restless, synthesizer groove whilst impressively beefing up the bottom end. The result is an angular, intense dancefloor gem. Things get even darker on the flip, where "Track 2" gets turned into a dense, percussive, end-of-days anthem - think cacophonous percussion, booming bottom end and creepy, delay-laden female vocals.
