As debuts go, this first outing from Mosey on Max D and Mike Petillo's Future Times label is rather special. Described by the duo as "a perfect piece of new romantic dance music", it sees the mysterious newcomer layering typically tactile new age synthesizer melodies, yearning chords and loved-up textures over beats that variously doff a cap to the new age house of Mood Hut, and Moon B style, boogie-influenced drum machine funk. The title track is particularly delicious, sounding like a retro-futurist deep house classic in the making. "TC Midi Labs" is a Japanese-influenced blast of high-speed ambience, while "Live a Little" is wonderfully sumptuous, melodic and bittersweet - all melancholic melodies, fizzing cymbals and cascading electronics.
