Mod21, as you'd expect, likes to revel in mystery and certainly resides in the more cavernous end of the techno scale, which means that his/her real identity is still unknown to us. However, the artist's skills have been noticed by Prologue, among other labels, which has given the artist the necessary freedom to launch their own Mod21 label. The debut EP is followed up here with a selection of reinterpretations, morphing and twisting an already contorted cocktail of industrialist sounds. Refracted, Plamnt43, Neel Montecovello, and Marco Shuttle all add to the brutalism in their own ways, expanding upon Mod21's dance-minded originals, and delivering some pretty wayward shades of electronics. Excellent.
