Freerange manage to find yet another new colour to endow their annual compilation in, and this violet tinged sampler showcases the talents of Aussie deep house producer Mic Newman, who's moved away from a progressive house sound to all things deep in recent times. His "Filty Forever" is the clear highlight here, eclipsing even his new label boss Jimpster - quite a feat in itself - with a punchy beat, pumping chords and cleverly arranged samples. Jimpster's "Cloudwalking" is more tame by comparison but still reaches the strict quality standards the house stalwart routinely sets himself. Over on the flip, Arithmetic drop some tech house rhythms on "The Faint Of Heart" while Martin Patino utilises grandiose piano stabs and strings on "Make Love". More essentialness from Freerange.
