Maths Balance Volumes formed in 2002 and since then have been exploring the very outer edges of sound. The three members have no genre constraints, and make music that sounds put together from shattered fragments, shards of something else. It's sort of ambient, sort of folk, always wonderfully weird and brilliantly beguiling. Each piece is assembled from wooden creaks or radio hisses, melancholic and often dust covered voices, deep drones or bluesy motifs. It is an incredibly intimate record that draws you right in just because of how empty and feint each track is. Brilliant stuff.
