Lithuania's finest exponent of slow burning contemporary disco Mario Basanov engages in some appetite whetting for his forthcoming debut album Journey - due out next week on UK hub Needwant - with this wonderful sounding (and looking) 12" single release of lead track "Like A Child" for the Silence Music label. Basanov's subtle twilight backing is perfectly balanced to showcase the contribution of Athena Radford, who not only provides some fragile vocals but also wrote the lyrics that come weighed with emotion. There is, of course, a raft of complementary remixes with Ukrainian producer Eugene Filatov opting to maintain a restrained feel while Silence associate Few Nolder plays with Radford's vocals with his boogie fried effort. Prins Thomas provides some high profile backing with a trademark Diskomiks and bonus dub version on the flip.
