Fresh from the release of his fine album of vintage deep house and Detroit beatdown sounds as LX72, New Affinity, Alex Storrer AKA Lexx offers up some club-focused reworks of recent cuts courtesy of pals Phillip Lauer and Gerd Janson. Lauer steps up first and - true to form - manages to deliver something that's more colourful and rushing than you'd think was possible. His version of 'Lunatic Dolphin' sparkles from start to finish, with colourful synthesizer flourishes and White Isle-friendly piano stabs rising above a tooled up, Chicago house style groove. Janson takes a totally different approach on his '808 Remix' of 'State of Resilience', re-inventing the drowsy deep house cut and a dreamy and otherworldly chunk of bubbly (and decidedly weighty) club electro.
