There's a reason Dave Lee aka Joey Negro puts his name to so many aliases and compilations; it's because he brandishes an encyclopaedic knowledge of disco, boogie, house, Go Go, funk and plenty more besides. As you might have guessed from the title of this compilation on his own Z Records label, the latest focus of his attentions is Italo House, more specifically the ear in Italian dance music when trace influences from the scenes in 1980s England, Chicago and New York coalesced to form a sound that was entirely it's own. Typically for a Joey Negro compilation, this double disc sets presents a deeper insight into what the movement was like with some twenty four tracks of underground Italian house which has never been given the retrospective treatment it deserves. Until now that is!
