As the Well Rounded label heads sadly towards its final release, its Individuals imprint puts out one of its most unique records to date. Despite their name, this anonymous trio make music that combines boogie, synthpop, and the slowed down textures of DJ Screw and his contemporaries. The title track sounds like a cross between FunkinEven and James Blake mashed together and slowed down to 33rpm, while "Girl I Know" channels classic '80s pop with the kind of pitched down vocals so beloved of Tri Angle's Holy Other, and "Curious Lady" brings on a more elegiac soundtrack vibe for the later hours.
