Bristol scene stalwart Hodge returns with yet more fascinating techno/industrial derivatives on his new EP for Hemlock and follows up a great release with Peder Mannerfelt, not to mention usual suspects such as Livity Sound and No Corner. "Aomame" is greyscale warehouse techno reminiscent of Marcel Dettmann's late noughties output and will devastate dancefloors as far away as Berlin. On the flip, he saves the best for last on slow burner "Medway" which is purpose built for the rave, complete with its massive siren which soon leads way to hissing junkyard rhythms and a bleep bassline. More great work from one of the most singular artists, hybridising techno music into new forms.
