UK bass/techno fusionist Happa has been relatively quiet since gate crashing the scene back in 2014. Somewhat surprisingly, this two-tracker is his first release of any sort since April 2016. It begins with the hilariously named "Bum Trance", where wild electronic bleeps, wickedly lo-fi stabs and flowering synthesizer motifs rain down on a fun-fuelled mutant electro groove. Given that the B-side is called "Hallucinations", it's little surprise that it's even wilder, weirder and heavier than its predecessor. Distorted, fuzzy and bass-heavy, the cut moves through a number of distinct phases, each of which is weightier than the last. It's pretty dystopian, but also wickedly floor-friendly.
