Bucharest's Guy From Downstairs has been hailed as one of the brightest stars to emerge from his native city's local scene, with releases on Tvir, Robsoul and XII - not to mention his own GFD imprint: which until now was solely devoted to his own material. The new one on the label is a various artists compilation, which features some collaborations with some of Romania's finest talents. He serves up some deep trance induction on the minimal house cruiser "Intro To The Jungle" with newcomer Floog. Local heroes Dubsons pass off some of their studio knowledge on the summery liquid tech-house of "Together With A Bag Of Sensi" while his introduction to the work of Coriesu on "No Pressure" treads the same esoteric territory as familiar names like Vid or Nu Zau. Elsewhere, more upbeat jams come in courtesy of the always reliable Faster on the futuristic groove tool "Zularic Tree" (which will mix in well with your mOI or OdD records) and "Tulgrav Tool" with yet another newcomer named Slip Y Time. It takes things back into micro-house territory - which we thought was more than adequate. Top stuff here from the Romanian underground, don't sleep on this!
