It would be fair to say that the debut release from Swedish outfit Goose (AKA pianist Johan Graden and DIY studio don Daniel Orgen) is a genuinely unique proposition. It consists of two near 13-minute, side-long tracks which their label describes as "organisms of shredded memories, connections and relations". A-side 'Som Folk Ar Mest' sets the tone, with the pair cutting and splicing together a variety of head-nodding beat patterns, distant piano sounds, sampled jazz orchestration, odd easy listening clips and much more besides. In contrast, 'Clara will be Biting People (at the Corner of 9th St and Avenue C at 7pm' is as eccentric as its title, with more experimental electronics and even odder samples being interspersed with wonky ambient noise and joyous blasts of big-band jazz.
