YAY Recordings recently decided to launch the 3n0 sub-label in order to promote the work of new and emerging producers. Fittingly, the imprint's first release also marks the debut of Gianluca Casnici, a young producer who has been DJing at YAY events for some time. He hits the spot immediately, with the brilliant "Ethereal" sounding like a lost link between classic Detroit techno, Larry Heard and Italian dream house. Elsewhere, he drops a fine chunk of spooky, acid-fired techno/electro fusion ("Brume"), goes mad in the studio with a TB-303 and a few choice synths (the wonderfully eccentric "Bliss") and expertly combines elements of British bleep, early Italian techno and deep house (standout "Crepuscular Ray").
