From Hidden Hawaii to Livity Sound, it's now time for Forest Drive West to land on the Appian district with some duly expected waves of sonic euphoria, merging techno, house and IDM like never before. In fact, the opening sway of "Trieste" is loose and mechanical enough to be considered both electronica and minimal techno, all at once, while "Narrow" performs a logical 4/4 dance with the help of airy atmospherics. On the flip, "Dream State" enters the ether, thanks to cascading pads and an itchy, almost broken percussion, whereas "Haze" pretty much exclusively travels at a subaqueous tone, expanding and contracting its rolling glitches like nothing else.
