Originally released on One Little Indian back in 1991, "101" by Finitribe is one of those classic tracks from the UK techno era that has been reissued and remixed multiple times over the ensuing years - most notably by Graham Massey and Andrew Weatherall. The latter's "Intensity" version is perhaps the most recognisable of the remixes and it gets pride of place on this new 2015 12" edition from One Little Indian. Almost a quarter of a decade on, it's hard not to be seduced by the charming concoction of breakbeats, sampled piano, and surging effects that sound like a continual electric shock. Complementing Sir Weatherall are three fresh remixes from contemporary acts with Canadian crew Jokers Of The Scene particularly excelling with their understated effort.
