For its first outing, new label Sequalog has recruited two techno producers with heaps of experience: long-serving Frenchman-in-Berlin Etienne and sometime Cabaret and Eklo sort TC80. The former handles the A-side, first serving up the elastic electro synths, off-key electronics and bouncy drum machine hits of "Mplified", before sprinting off into more hypnotic late night territory on the equally off-kilter techno throb of "Mphasis". On the flipside, TC80 begins by doffing a cap to vintage System 7 on the psychedelic techno roller "Reason", where effected guitar lines wrap themselves around a bustling techno groove. Inertia, a jaunty fusion of boogie style synth bass, ghostly chords, rave style stabs and snappy drum machine hits, draws proceedings to a close in impressive fashion.
