Brooklyn's Toucan Sounds collabs with Mexico City's Super Spicy Records to drop the 'Beginning' EP from Drop Out Orchestra & Monsieur Van Pratt. Leading the release is floor filler 'Glitter', which gets the party started with brightly mixed horns, saxophone flair and deep bass licks, before moving into 'Feel Great', with New York R&B artist Shareef Keyes' vocals sitting atop an effortlessly grooving and sparkling production. Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue's baritone sparks joy in 'Get Busy', sliding into higher registers in the chorus over a crystal clear funk backdrop. For the final track on the EP, 'Organ Fett' drops the vocals for earworm synth leads, organs, and guitar hooks, conjuring images of palm trees and orange sunsets. Drop Out Orchestra rose to prominence in 2008 with a seemingly endless arsenal of bootlegs, re-edits, and covers. Now teaming up with Mexican DJ Monsieur Van Pratt for their first collaboration.
