According to the team behind Catch, DJ Najaora is an emerging talent from Georgia dedicated to establishing his own take on left-of-centre techno and electro. This debut EP shows plenty of promise, with opener "Night Dreamers" delivering just the right balance of vintage electro rhythms, spacey chords, psychedelic electronics and far-sighted flourishes. It's joined on the A-side by the deeper and warmer electro shuffle of "Space Call", which remains dreamy and woozy despite the presence of TB-303 style acid lines that build in psychedelic intensity throughout. Perhaps the most impressive of the lot, though, is B-side "Simulaq", a formidably bass-heavy affair that peppers a rock solid electro groove with all manner of wild electronics, computer bleeps and mind-altering modular motifs.
