Deep88 deals in dust; last year saw him Collecting Dust for a debut album on 12 Records and now the Italian producer presents Removing Dust, a five track 12" that precedes his forthcoming second album of the same name later this year. Proceedings commence with the frequency and channel test signature experimenting of "Grancartridge" which would probably sound better within the context of listening to an album than on the floor of a club, though the latter is the perfect environment for "The Vibe". A perfectly judged slice of 90s house nostalgia that rattles along with the kind of panache absent from many other current attempts. On the flip Deep88 goes all dusty on the delightfully loose sounding "100% Kamelhaar", indulges in some Sex Tags style rough drum trax on "Thor Ens Funk" and ends in dreamy fashion with "Like A Trembling H" - see if you can spot the killer sample!
