Here's something special: a fresh set of remixes of one of the standout cuts from David Walters' fine new album, "Soleil Kreyol", which has been pressed in such small numbers that you'll have to act fast to secure a copy. It's well worth snaffling one, though: not only is the original version of "Krye Mwen" a soulful, sun-kissed treat rich in lazy trumpet solos and lolloping grooves, but the reworks are rather tidy too. Aroop Roy leads the way with a revision that sits somewhere between nu-disco and hazy Brazilian house, while Patchworks serves up a disco-tinged revision full to bursting with live instrumentation. Arguably best of all though is Walters' own revision, which peppers a chunky Afro-house groove with sparkling electrofunk synths.
