Thule Records has been doing a sterling job of reviving the niche scene of Icelandic minimal techno they started back in the 90s, and one of those names they're bringing back into focus is Cold. Following last year's appearance on the Exiles EP, he's returning to the main label with a new batch of appropriately chilling excursions into dub techno and minimalism. "Natures Call" actually sports an acid line coursing through the centre, but it's kept firmly within bounds amidst the slender beats and icy pads, while "Fractal Memory" fully plunges into the sub zero depths of spring reverb decays and space echo delays. "Dub Safari" is the hit here though, sporting a subtle housey groove that plays off the dubby textures perfectly.
