Having established the Chroma project with the Ricochet 12" released on Commercial Suicide last year, the Tyneside trio of Phobia, Sato and Tyrone make a triumphant return to Klute's peerless imprint with this hard-nosed two tracker. "Surge" is a good title for the lead cut as tough tech stepping beats swoop with precision through waves of vicious sub bass complemented by the merest hint of Junglist dred. Face down, "Haunted Dancehall" is not a Chroma cover of the Sabres Of Paradise classic; it is however just as rowdy as the A Side production, laying down some dizzying breakbeats and ghostly MC samples amidst a swampy mid section.
