This dinked, hand-numbered 7" marks the launch of a new five-part series of limited edition singles from long-serving Bristolian break-digger Scott "Boca 45" Hendy. As you'd expect from a man renowned for the quality of his cut-and-paste, break-heavy exploits, both tracks on Bocas Club Donuts number one are seriously heavy. A-side "Fat Back Boys" is a rolling, low-slung, hip-hop-tempo treat built around killer funk samples, mostly from the Fatback Band's extensive back catalogue. Flipside "Les Beats" is, arguably, even better, as the West Country veteran creates heavy dancefloor magic out of samples from one of the final recordings by the world's most famous band, adding cheeky scratches, Thomas the Tank Engine approved drum solos and Beastie Boys vocal snippets to ratchet up the dancefloor pressure.
