Afro7 unearth some incredible Kenyan treasure: Black Savage were one of the many strong voices in the 70s pop culture boom in the freshly independent Nairobi. A fizzy brew of blues, soul, rock, psychedelia all brought together with afrofunk magic and progressive conscious lyricism, their 1975 album Something For Someone is a vital mosaic of flavours ranging from the cosmic rock of "Exotica", the Hendrixian blues of "Do You Really Care" and "Savaged". Sadly it suffered a highly limited press and faded into obscurity. Until now. Afro7 have tracked the band down, detailed their story and brought this 43 year old album back to life with the respect and praise it deserves. Something for all of us.
