Inspired by a sample he took from Baden Powell & Vinicius de Moraes last year, Aussie beatsmith Billy decided to rework the entire 1966 Afro Brazilian album. And here it is in all its glory... Sleazy, smoky, smoochy and, at points, gosh darn seductive, Hoyle's taken the whole album and reinterpreted it with contemporary glee. From the space-destined electro and timpani fusion of "Bocoche" to the lead track (that features as well known hip-hop lick) "Canto De Xango" via the snake-like steel guitar string hypnosis of "Tempo De Amor" this unique dedication resonates with decade-leaping, continent-bounding glee.
