It's quite staggering to think that Ronald Burrell's next-level house steamer "Song Of The Siren" hails from way back when in 1990, dealing as it does in illustrious sweeps of blessed out melody and loaded as it is with highly charged sensuality. Whichever mix you plump for, from the full-blooded "Atlantic Mix" to the stripped down "Black Sea Mix", or even the sea sound effects laden drum workout of the "Nautical Mix", this is as advanced and emotionally striking as house music can get, leagues ahead of the competition. It's a wonder anyone bothered to make a house record after this came out, and this repress will likely send all modern deep house chancers scurrying into the shadows once more.
