Underrated Russian producer Anton Kubikov demonstrated that he's still in top form last year, with his full length Whatness on Kompakt proving just that - on a label he's had a rapport with since his seminal releases as SCSI-9 in the early noughties. Now based in Prague (where he runs his Pro-Tez imprint), he returns with a release on St Petersburg based Heisenberg. Kraxx Traxx EP features the deep, swing-fuelled ethereal tech house of "Froggy" which gets an infectious remix packed full of dancefloor dynamics by Pavel Iudin. "St Groo" features all the hallmarks of the eastern european tech house sound at present: rolling, hypnotic and subtle and the kind of track the a:rpia:r guys would use in one of their long mixes. Oslo Records boss Federico Molinari makes a surprise appearance too, with a deep exploration in minifunk with his rendition of "Foggy".
