Legendary dub-minded editor Grant Phabao gets busy with Tru Thoughts' most distinctive vocalist and songwriter Alice Russell. First up, her famous cover of White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army". Taking it even further away from the bassline-driven source, if you didn't know it was a cover you'd think it was an original. "Humankind" sees Grant digging into Alice's now ten-year-old second album and switching out the original's nylon-string flamenco fire for a dancehall shaker complete with gravelly hype toasting. Once again, it's so well executed, it's like a whole new original. A seven nation army can't hold us back from this one (sorry).
