Since joining Amelie Lens' Lenske label last year, Dario Brkic AKA AIROD has delivered two EPs of typically tough, rave-ready workouts. He continues in a similar vein on this bombastic third 12" for the label, doffing a cap to Richard Hawtin and Hardfloor's 1990s acid-techno explorations on psychedelic opener 'Assassin's Walk', before delivering an even heavier and more ballsy slab of warehouse-ready techno on the blistering 'Topaz'. Over on the flip, title track 'Venom' sees Brkic add raw, trance-inspired synth motifs to a ten-ton techno beat, while 'Light Enchantment' fixes gently uplifting melodies and dreamy chords to the thrusting, stomping intensity of his trademark techno sound.
