ACT! denotes a new chapter of creative output from David Psutka, via his new Halocline Trance label. The Toronto based musician builds on a diverse body of releases as Egyptrixx, Ceramic TL, Anamai (and various other collaborations) with the Universalist LP. It conjures up 'baroque, kaleidoscope electronics; (a) material sound for a disembodied world.. indebted in spirit to the masters of psychic jazz as much as the physical euphoria of the club.' From the freeform FM arpeggio madness of "Ecstatica/On Patrol", "Para" exploring video game aesthetics via hyperaware tempos, or the sonic gradients exposed via texture/tone on tracks like "BTHL". This is a contemplative and strangely celestial experience.
