Review: Never Enough is a much anticipated and long-awaited third album from Daniel Caeser and it comes as a follow-up to Case Study 01. The acclaimed Freudian is in fine form right now having picked up a 2023 Juno Award nomination for Best Traditional R&B/Soul Recording for 'Please Do Not Lean' which featured BADBADNOTGOOD. He also headlined the 2022 Coachella Festival and hit the Billboard Top 20 with his last EP. He reaches new heights here with his thought-provoking lyrics, catchy bars and sensuous r&b stylings.

Review: If you read any interviews around Elbow's ninth studio album, Guy Garvey's open admissions that this is the Bury, Greater Manchester band's most patient and hushed work to date are unlikely to pass you by. The frontman is clearly pleased with what the outfit managed to pull together, offering a great example of why remote working during lockdown actually led to some pretty inspired projects if you look in the right places.

Whether Flying Dream 1 would have sounded like this had it been made through a standard studio process is a big question mark we're not in a position to answer. The group themselves are probably still pondering that one. What is clear is that it feels like a coherent, complete work, which is somewhat at odds with the reality of members contributing individual elements from different locations. Review: Last year, Brian Eno served up his latest critically acclaimed album in the form of FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE. Now he follows it up with the much anticipated instrumental version. Despite his advancing years and the sheer scope of what he has already accomplish dint he ambient world - not least devising the genre in the first place - Eno still manages to excite and intrigue here. The artwork alone is beautiful, and the music inside is similarly lush - widescreen cosmic soundscapes with subtle melodies and shifting timbres, pregnant empty space and a knack for sounds designs with meaning few others can match.

Review: 2019 has been big for Goldie. The late summer saw the anniversary reissue of his second album "Saturnz Return", and now he's put together a bumper collection of drum & bass gems. Across "60 tracks that smashed it" as the release is sub-titled, the proudly British sound of drum & bass is explored and exposed thanks to music from all the key players including Roni Size, Doc Scott, Photex, Krust, DJ Zinc and many more familiar faces. Of course, the Metalheadz boss' own "Inner City Life" kicks off in triumphant fashion and the vibes keep coming thick and fast from there on in.

Review: A great example of how critics are often not all right, when Jack Johnson dropped his third studio album, In Between Dreams, music writers the world over adopted partisan positions. Some believed this definitely was worthy of catapulting him from Pretty Famous Acoustic Surf Rock Guy Popular With People Who Went Travelling Post-Millennium, to global superstar. Other were pretty non-plussed.

Suffice to say, we all know who won in the end - Jack Johnson. In Between Dreams rocketed to high chart positions, reaching number one in Australia and the UK, and number two in America, returning to reclaim that US position upon reissue in 2013. One of the most familiar records of the last couple of decades, even if you've never actually owned a copy (partly the result of all the advertising licensing that has taken place), perhaps now is the time to rectify that ownership issue.

Review: Now legendary American rapper Lil Wayne dropped his sixth studio album Tha Carter III back in 2008. On the occasion of its 15th birthday it is getting this special reissue featuring appearances from dons like Jay-Z, Fabolous, Robin Thicke, Busta Rhymes, Babyface and Kanye West, among others. The album came after a series of strong mixtapes and Lil Wayne features on other seminal hip hop and r&b records but served as a fine reminder that he is never better than when in full creative control. The beats and bars have all aged remarkably well and very much stand up in 2023.

Review: American rapper Pusha T dropped his fourth album It's Almost Dry earlier in 2022 on GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings - his last with those labels. It is a heavyweight ensemble who have helped make it with contributions and features from the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Lil Uzi Vert and Nigo amongst many more. The record got instant acclaim from fans and critics alike and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. Pusha is in a confident mood throughout as he plays out a gangster sex saga in vivid fashion, with larger-than-life storytelling which betters his last album in 2018.

Review: This special 25th Anniversary edition of REM's New Adventures in HIFi album comes on limited heavyweight vinyl in a replica of the original gatefold LP. The Grammy wining and Rock And Roll Hall of fame inductees are one of the most revered American bands of their era thanks to their singular mix of brash tunes, poetic lyrics and very singable choruses and never was that more obvious than on this album. First released in 1996 when the band were on a near-constant tour of the world, it experiments with various sonic textures, haunting effects and dissonant notes with singles like 'E-Bow' and 'Electrolite' all featuring.

Review: Italian rapper Villabanks is only 21 years old but has a well formed sound. The young Villabanks has dedicated himself fully to rap since the age of 15 and after a load of self-produced singles and mixtapes published on streaming channels and digital stores, the rapper published his first album, Non lo so, in 2019. This follow-up take sin reggae ton, trap, classic hip hop sounds and fresh r&b sentimental and lovestruck. He packs plenty of tracks in here, all of which are short, but together they add up to a compelling listen.
