Review: For those who prefer their soul kept raw and cerebral, Synod have got you covered. A formerly unreleased track by a band of humble origin - they first came together while at Concordia Teachers College in the 1970s - 'Anchors Away' and 'Sheryl Song Is Gonna Do My Dancing' are technically masterful, quirky AOR songs, packed to the brim with extra harmony and melodic ornaments, as well a pair of incredible synth solos, both of which cement a uniquely cosmic edge.
