Turntable phono cartridges have a stylus that should be replaced after every 1000 hours of use, sometimes even sooner, depending on the cartridge. A worn stylus degrades sound quality and can damage your valuable record collection. Unfortunately, most turntable owners have no idea how much time is actually on their stylus, especially as the months and years go by. Notes: The newly developed Tonar Top Tip stylus cleaning Liquid with stylus lubricating additive is very easy and simple to use. It is a powerful cleaning solution that will detach all the dirt ad tough grime that your stylus collects from the record during play-back and result in a perfectly cleaned stylus surface.

The kit contains a bottle with the Top Tip cleaning and lubricating liquid. In the bottle top you will find an applicator brush that is used to wet the stylus brush. The kit also includes the Tonar clean tip carbon fibre stylus cleaning brush.

Instructions:

Unscrew the bottle top and apply one or two drops of liquid onto the Tonar cleantip brush. To clean the stylus tip brush the tip a few times with the brush. Careful! Always clean the tip from the back of the cartridge to the front of the cartridge only. Never brush back and forth as shown on the diagram. You do not have to remove the stylus the cartridge for cleaning.

Caution:

The fluid contains a low percentage of Iso-Propyl Alcohol. Keep out of reach of children.

Notes: The special formula of the Tonar record cleaning fluid concentrate brings dirt to the surface for easy removal. This 50 ml bottle concentrate makes 1 litre of cleaning fluid when added to distilled water.

Can be perfectly used in all record cleaning machines , including the Tonar Wash & Dry Vinyl Washing Machine or the Tonar Knosti Disco-Antistat record washing machines.

Notes: Any vibrations in the record during playback will be picked by the cartridge and will be reproduced by the amplifier and speakers causing muddy sound, distortion and reduced detail. In order to avoid record vibrations you must make sure that the contact between the record and the platter is as perfecrt as possible.The tonar record clamp presses the record flat against the platter. Put the record on the turntable and then put the clamp on the spindle, press down & turn the knob to tighten. The weight of the clamp is minimal so it can be used on any record player with a fixed spindle.

Also many older manufactured records are warped to varying degrees, this causes big problems for the diamond stylus of the cartridge to track the grooves properly. The stylus pressure fluctuates as the stylus moves up and down while trying to track the warps. With bad results: muddy sound reproduction with distortions and if the turntables drive isn't really strong... audible flutter. In some cases the stylus may actually loose contact with the groove causing a hissing sound. Using the Tonarclampit will press the record onto the turntable platter, and the problematic surface will be flattened while you play the record causing a dramatic improvement of the reproduced sound on old records.

Take care that the platter bearing of your turntable is able to accept the additional weight of 760 g. If in any doubt please consult your record player instructions or your dealer before buying or using this weight.
