  1. Fata Morgana (5:21)
  2. Hidden Key (5:40)
  3. Two Minutes To Midnight (6:44)
  4. Elephant's Toothpaste (5:46)
Review: The Partout label turns its attention back to its UK series with a fine four tracker here from Bufo Bufo. The whole thing is steeped in UK sounds with elements of rave never far away. 'Fata Morgana' has a dumpy beat that swings from one foot to the other while old school stabs light up the track from above. 'Hidden Key' ups the ante with a more hard hitting groove and more old school motifs, this time in the bass. 'Two Minutes To Midnight' is the waviest of the lot with sirens going off, rinsing breakbeats and turbo charged bass going deep. 'Elephant's Toothpaste' then cut up a more lumpy groove with bleeps and pulses making it a soothing groove for 5am.

  4. Machines (4:04)
Review: David Campbell is a UK based producer making electronic music of various genres since the late 1980s as Autonation, Kibu and, more recently, as 62nd Cell. Under his Hi-Ryze alias, he was most active between 1990 - 1999 and released the bulk of it on seminal IDM imprint General Production Recordings. The Bellboy EP contains previously unreleased material, exclusive to French retroverts Partout. From the trippy acid house jam "Orinoco", the moody Detroit influenced bang and clatter of "Corridor 17" to the hypnotic FM bell tones of the title track - these tunes still sound as good today as they (perhaps) did all those years ago.

The PWC EP (12")
Cat: PARTOUT 603. Rel: 14 Dec 20
  1. Unity 07 (6:59)
  2. Pye Nuts (5:32)
  3. Muchroom (7:58)
Review: The Partout label's UK-centric series rolls on apace with a fresh offering from Loosewomen. As exciting as it would be to hear the UK daytime TV crew who host a show of that name making electro, we can only assume this actually an alias of someone else. 'Unity 07' bangs from the off with bubbling synths and massive old school breaks while 'Pye Nuts' pulls pack to a more minimal jungle groove with rubbery rhythm and a bleeping lead that's finished in euphoric style with a vocal yelp. 'Muchroom' is a heads down, foot stomping back room banger that closes the EP in style.
