Review: We've not quite sure what "dusselcore" is, but Tera Octe is the world's number one exponent of the kaleidoscopic, hard-to-pigeonhole sound. For the uninitiated, Tera Octe is one of the alternative solo aliases used by Guilhaume Lespinasse, who first rose to prominence as part of synth-loving nu-Balearic types Pilotwings. His material as Tera Octe is, as debut album Plus proves, thoroughly bonkers, fusing off-kilter bass music rhythms (some pitched down, others fiendishly up-tempo) with dreamy synths, growling, EBM style vocals, fuzzy riffs, dreamy pads, trance-style riffs and nods to techno, industrial music and much more besides. It's thoroughly madcap but also really, really good, making it one of the most inspired and interesting albums we've heard this year.
