Electro
  1. Feeling (5:44)
  2. Feeling (BFX remix) (6:45)
  3. Above (feat Kenethetic) (6:32)
  4. Above (Brice Kelly remix) (5:55)
Review: Proud and in charge, Exzact returns with more unfaltering electro aimed at the purists in the room while still exploring avenues that will appeal to ears of a wider sonic disposition. Three tracks of broken futurism all equally accomplished and irresistible. 'Feeling' is perhaps the most upfront here, its arpeggiated introduction building atmosphere before beats drop that can only really be described as fresh, picking up tracking high-hats as things progress before introducing an echoed synth arrangement plucked straight from Bladrunner's deleted party scene. The BFX remix throws in four-to-the-floor sections, using these to build tension, breaks acting as explosive moments to unleash the true vibe. Kenethetic joins on the high pitched 'Above', while man of the moment- in this genre at least- Brice Kelly turns said track into a moody, evil work of genius.

Electro
  1. We Own The Algorithms
  2. Scratch Alrogithms
  3. Merciless Killing Machines
  4. Inside The Kill Box
Review: Ghosts In The Machine are the attackers on this Monotone release with some in your face electrocore madness. On the a-side appears the much anticipated and overdue release of "We Own The Algorithms" where we find solid drum programming and a powerful vocoder chorus. The b-side features two more bombs starting with "Merciless Killing Machines" which is a GITM favourite at live shows, finally put down on wax for official release. Last and certainly not least is "Inside The Kill Box" and you could say the best comes last with this unique electro killer. Ghosts In The Machine drops their sophomore EP and shows they are a force to be reckoned with.

MonoTrax Volume 2 (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: MON 019. Rel: 24 Jun 19
Electro
  1. The Hacker - "Rythmus Machine" (5:12)
  2. Larry McCormick - "Root Code" (5:26)
  3. Cosmic Force - "Maximilian Of Roma" (5:08)
  4. DeFeKT - "I Am Here" (5:17)
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Larry McCormick's Monotone label is one of the finest outposts for darkside electro operating in these bountiful times for the genre, and following on from the first volume of vinyl-only compilation MonoTrax, brace yourselves for round two. The Hacker is at his stalking, sinister best on "Rhythmus Machine," while McCormick himself brings a tough, street-level grittiness to "Root Code." Cosmic Force is on a dystopian sci fi tip with the nagging synth patterns of "Maximilian Of Roma", and DeFeKT completes the package with the audacious synth acrobatics and jackhammer beats of "I Am Here." What more do you need to know? This is high-end electro business for down and dirty, sweat-box dancefloors.

Genesis (mini LP)

Electro
  1. Show The Way
  2. One Step Ahead
  3. Move Because I Said So
  4. Creator
  5. Eyes On Me
  6. Magic City
Review: Larry McCormick has been doing his thing for a long time under different aliases and in multiple groups, but these days he's focusing on his own name and following a strong turn on Shipwrec last year he's emerged on US label Monotone with a mini LP stuffed to the gills with razor sharp electro. "Show The Way" is driving, dynamic and devilishly noirish, like all good electro should be. "One Step Ahead" is a lighter affair with bold lead lines that cut through any mix, while "Move Because I Said So" experiments with jagged rhythm variations for the adventurous DJ to get creative with. "Creator" is a shimmering melodic workout, while "Eyes On Me" sports melancholic overtones before "Magic City" rounds the record off on a harsher tone for the edgier dancefloor.
