Aeon Fusion I (2016 Stretched edit)
Evocation Part II (remastered)
Review: The UK's newly inaugurated Future Primitive label holds a candle to its name by unearthing two Leo Anibaldi productions from deep within the Roman's voluminous back catalogue. The two-track 12" debut sees Anibaldi provide the label with a contemporary 'Stretched Edit' of 1994 production "Fusion 1", a cut lifted from the Aeon EP originally released on the now defunct Italian label, ACV. Future Primitive has also given ambient number "Evocation Part II" a full remaster and B-side privileges, honouring an esoteric production from Anibaldi's Void LP that was originally released on Aphex Twin's Rephlex label in 1996.

Techno
Form Of Change
A Mental Image
Review: Charles Noel has been enjoying a resurgence of late, with his early explorations as Archetype resurfacing on a number of reissue labels. Future Primitive have tapped Noel up for two cuts that typify his left-of-centre approach, leading in with the sharp-edged beat excursion "Form Of Change" that will appeal to all lovers of reduced, off-kilter rhythm workouts. "A Mental Image" adopts a softer stance, laying out a bed of silken pads and errant tweaks that tap into the head-tripping mood of vintage techno while maintaining the future-minded thrust that makes true machine music timeless, whichever era it was crafted in.

Congo Shuffle (version) (7:07)
Invisible Guest (6:54)
Paralyzed Dub (2:32)
Review: UK dub techno maestro Steve O'Sullivan is back with another payload of deep immersion heaters under his Bluetrain guise, this time on the Future Primitive label. There's a deadly restraint at work on "Congo Shuffle", where the elements get reduced to needlepoint precision and the low end rhythm section stalks with purpose. "Invisible Guest" takes things in an explicitly dubwise direction, channelling serious Rhythm & Sound vibes for an immaculate head-nodder, before "Paralyzed Dub" slows down further into an end of the line skank for the weary to find solace in - masterful movements in the echo chamber from start to finish.

Review: Following a first drop from Leo Anibaldi and a various 12" featuring Mike Ink, DJ Guy and Terrestre, Future Primitive is back with an immersive new LP from CN, whose approach to electro comes loaded with analog fuzz and a wistful vision of science-fiction sounds. This is a record that should appeal to fans of proper electro as envisioned by Drexciya, Bunker Records and CPU alike. The Kraftwerk influence comes thick and fast on "Surfing Carina" while you can hear all kinds of monosynth-powered atmospheric dread lurking on ambient track "Coronal Mass Ejections" - with a consistent concept and a perfect execution this is a masterclass in future-minded machine funk.

Mike Ink - "Income"
DJ Guy - "ASII100" (Crisis Urbana edit)
Terrestre - "Botas De Oro"
Terrestre - "Secondary Inspection Theme"
Review: The cast of characters across the latest Future Primitive release are perhaps unlikely bedfellows, but they sit together comfortably on this 12". Mike Ink is in a most reflective mood on "Income", letting the beat fall slow and pushing the gently pulsing synth lines to the foreground. Welsh wizard DJ Guy lets the tape grit shine through on his wonderfully disheveled "ASII100". That leaves it to an early alias of Murcof, Terrestre, to take on the B-side with the more dynamic tones of "Botas De Oro" and "Secondary Inspection Theme". The rich percussion and hypnotic mood are a joy to listen to, while the easy pace should sit comfortably in the warm up zone of the dance.
