Event generator module
Notes: Chronograf is a super flexible one-shot and cyclic event generator. It can be used as an envelope generator, LFO, or master clock.

Chronograf features Start/Reset and Stop momentary switches, each with associated control inputs, as well as a tap tempo momentary switch. A toggle switch selects between one-shot and cyclic modes. Four knobs are available to set Tempo, Waveform, Multiplier and Function. There is another toggle switch to select whether changes to Multiplier happen immediately or at the start of the next clock cycle.

Chronograf has 5 outputs:
LFO out
180 out (same as LFO out but 180- out of phase)
Clock out
Start cycle out (Clock divided by Multiplier)
Reset out (momentarily goes high whenever Start/Reset or Stop is pressed)

Waveform selection is chosen by a combination of Waveform and Function knobs. In this way (arguably) 64 waveforms can be selected.

Analogue sequencer module
Notes: Cryptograf is a 4 bit to 16 step addressable analogue sequencer. Each of it's 16 steps can be addressed in any order for ultimate creative flexibility.

Cryptograf pairs nicely with Polygraf; together they make a powerful combination for prepared - yet also improvisational - melodic sequences.

Cryptograf features 4 address inputs, 1, 2, 4 and 8, each of which has an associated input socket as well as a 3 position state switch which allows each address input to be held high, respond to input signals, or held low.

Each input has two status LEDs. The red LED displays the signal present at the input socket, while the green LED displays the status of the address input.

The combination of signals present at the input sockets, together with the positions of the state switches allows Cryptograf to have 16 different output states, numbered from 0 through to 15.

The output state of Cryptograf can be ascertained by observing which of the 4 address inputs are high. So, for example:
if no green status LEDs are on, Cryptograf is in output state 0
if green status LED 4 is on, Cryptograf is in output state 4
if green status LEDs 1, 2 and 4 are on, Cryptograf is in output state 7
if green status LEDs 2 and 8 are on, Cryptograf is in output state 10
...and so forth.

Each output state has an associated LED and potentiometer. The potentiometer can be set to a desired voltage which will then be present at the CV output whenever Cryptograf is in that particular output state.
Additionally, there is a master range switch for determining the voltage range of all the output states, either high (...), or low (...).

The input sockets may be addressed by various external modules, for example:
FC Pocket Calculator, FC High Towers, or similar clock dividers with multiple outputs from other manufacturers.
FC Polygraf or similar grid editors from other manufacturers.
FC Touch Me Here or similar momentary or latched manual gate modules

Polygraf is recommended as the most flexible way to address Cryptograf, they were designed to be together and share a deep and enduring love for each other. This successful partnership allows Cryptograf to be addressed in many ways, for example:
Forwards from 0 through to 15
Backwards from 15 through to 0
by repeating rows, or by repeating columns
Asequentially, in any order you choose

As Polygraf is capable of storing many user patterns which themselves are selectable by CV, multiple chained patterns are possible. Furthermore, users will discover their own unique combinations of FC and third party modules to address Cryptograf, always bearing in mind that at any time the status of any of the 4 input sockets may be overridden by the 4 state switches.
Latch function
Cryptograf may be latched manually via the Latch toggle switch, or externally via the Latch input. When Cryptograf is latched, the last output state to go high is held until Cryptograf is unlatched. Additionally, when latched, the clock output is held low.
Clock input / clock output
Cryptograf does not require a clock input to function, nor does it contain an internal clock. The clock input/clock output circuit can be thought of as a 'clock thru' with a couple of useful additions:
Incoming clocks or LFOs are comparated and outputted as square waves
Clock output is held low when Cryptograf is latched
By sending a clock through Cryptograf, and utilising the latch input, legato notes may be programmed by use of external modules.

Notes: 20HP hardwired synth voice for fast set up times, with a decidedly East Coast feel.

Monograf is a fixed signal path monophonic synth voice with many unique features, including a number of patch points for flexibilty within a modular setting. Our aim was to design the simplest full featured and good sounding single VCO synth within as small a space as possible, while offering a broad sonic palette and fast setup times. Monograf includes the following elements:

Onboard LFO for PWM, and onboard sub osc for thick and juicy synth lines

Super stable AS3340 based VCO featuring sawtooth, triangle and square waveforms, as well as rotary switch control of octaves and an onboard LFO for PWM. Features highly accurate 1V/octave tracking, as well as extenal CV control of linear FM.

Sub oscillator featuring -1 octave and -2 octave square waveforms. Add a big bottom to your sound.

5 toggle switches for fast waveform selection, allows for super quick changes. Additionally, the triangle waveform is routed directly to the VCA, bypassing the VCF, to maintain a rumbling low end with higher resonance settings, this is a little known modular trick which was practised by the ancients.

12dB/octave OTA lowpass VCF based upon ARP Odyssey Mk1 'whiteface'. A very characterful VCF with cutting resonance whose audio inputs can be driven into clipping via a dedicated Drive control. The chosen level of drive can have a profound effect over the character of the filter, and heavy drive will saturate the input while simultaneously reducing resonance. Cutoff frequency can be controlled manually, from the LFO, from the ADSR, normalised from a 1V/oct source, or from an external CV.

Vintage ARP style VCA with gated/ADSR/drone options via two toggle switches.

AS3310 based ADSR for super snappy envelopes. CV control of envelope output is available for velocity controlled dynamics etc.

Select
This knob is used to select one of the 8 sounds to be triggered. It has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Tune
This knob may be used to detune the drum sound either upwards or downwards. It has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Distort
This knob may be used to introduce either one of two different types of distortion to your chosen drum sound. When set to the mid position (12 o'clock) no distortion is present. Turning the knob anti-clockwise will cause the sound to be progressively clipped harder, while turning the knob clockwise will cause the sound to be progressively more bitcrushed. This knob has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Secret Sauce
Try running the sawtooth output of an audio rate VCO into Seismograf's trigger input, then wiggle the Tune knob manually, or apply a control voltage to the Tune input. Seismograf almost acts like a filter, probably more akin to oscillator sync. As the incoming trigger is so fast, Seismograf only gets to play the initial part of it's waveform, less on high notes, more on low notes. Additionally, there is naturally higher frequency content the higher the note and so forth. Whatever's going on, it sounds freaking awesome. More than just a drum module, right?

Notes: Stasis Leak is a 6HP 48kHz DSP effects module, providing a choice of stereo chorus, stereo plate reverb and tap tempo delay. Stasis Leak is based around a Belton ABE-FX sub board, which in turn is based around a Coolaudio V1000 chip.

Time control
This knob controls a different function for each of the three effects (see chart at bottom). It is also associated with its own CV input, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob serves to attenuate incoming control voltages. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Tone control
This knob works on each of the three different effects as a simple lowpass filter, cutting the highs in the effected signal, and helping to provide definition between the dry and wet signal.

Wet control
This knob controls the amount of effected signal that is mixed with the dry signal. Dry is always 100%. On the rear of the module there is a Dry Lift jumper, this can come in useful when Stasis Leak is used in a send/return effects loop.

Tap/Sync In
These functions only apply to the delay effect, where they may be used to set the delay time, either manually, or via an incoming clock.

Left Out/Right Out
These two outputs may be used in conjuction for full stereo outputs of the chorus and reverb effects. The delay effect is mono, and either of the outputs may be used. For best results when using the chorus in a mono signal path, the left and right signals, which are 90o out of phase with each other, should be combined using a small mixer such and Process 26 or Volts Platz.

Notes: State 700 Mk2 is an update of this popular module. The Mk2 is the same size as the Mk1, at 10HP wide, but features additional audio and CV inputs, both with their own attenuators. Based on the Roland System 700 state variable filter module, State 700 provides lowpass, bandpass and highpass outputs simultaneously. The Mk2 features upgraded outputs from the original module, keeping signals more in line with Eurorack output levels. A big part of the sound of the State 700 is the way in which resonance is reduced as the audio inputs are driven harder. It won't self oscillate with a hot audio input, throttle back a little and you'll get squelchy ear bleeding resonances!

Notes: Wave Runner LFO:
Wave Runner is a multi-waveform sync-able LFO based on the Electric Druid TAPLFO2D family of code, but with some significant additions and improvements. The TAPLFO2D-FC PIC and code is exclusive to Frequency Central and was developed specifically for the Wave Runner, and is not compatible with similar modules.

8 waveforms:
- sawtooth
- ramp
- pulse
- triangle
- sine
- noise
- sample and hold
- stepped triangle/sawtooth/ramp

All waveforms can be skewed using the Distort knob, as well as control over pulse width of square, and distortion of the cyclic waveforms, this get you control over Noise freq as well as bitcrushing, bitcrush of S/H down to 1 bit for random triggers.

Tap sync input, for syncing to whatever. Wave Runner measures the last two incoming pulses and syncs itself to these. Multiply knob allows for Wave Runner to run at x0.5, x1, x1.5, x2, x3 and x4 of the incoming sync pulse. Freq is from stupid slow (0.025Hz) into low audio range (50Hz).

The latest version also features Level CV input to control the absolute output level of the LFO.

The Frequency Central Wave Runner LFO is a 5U format low frequency oscillator with 8 waveforms and a range of sync and skewing options.

Wave Runner includes 8 waveforms that include saw, ramp, pulse, triangle, sine, noise, sample and hold and a selection of stepped options, for less blase modulation results. The modules frequency range is ridiculously wide range, going from 0.025Hz all the way into 50Hz audio range.

The module also includes an onboard distortion circuit which lets you bend and mangle the waveform to create less linear and more unpredictable modulations and sounds. This distortion section lets you effectively crush the waveforms and create new voltages.
