Review: Dukwa and Herva, who together make form Life's Track, have truly impressed us with their free-form house and techno structures as of late, raw and disjointed jams which verge on the experimental side of things. Their last EP for Black Opal, for example, brought together everything we like about the current trend of filthy outsiderism - loose, cavernous beats and post-apocalyptic atmospherics. The pair return to their household Bosconi imprint, Florence's no.1 outlet for underground dance music, with an LP + 7" combo. Unlike some of their previous efforts, the Venere album - that's Venus in Italian - spans across different territories, ranging from the bleepy, funky house of tracks like "Needed" or "Amore", to broken beats and sampling madness such as on "Freak With Us", and the beat science of "Play With Me". Check "Venere" itself for a musical ride across vast, starry soundscapes and driving beats. Recommended and best not be slept on!

As we dive into the third edition it’s clear the legacy of Italian dance music is a vital focus, thanks in no small part to the throbbing arpeggios of The Mechanical Man. There’s space for psychedelic electro tweaking from Minimono and trancey pulses from Queen of Coins and nasty vocodered machine funk from Twovi, all feeding into a vibrant collection that serves as a perfect document of where Bosconi is at, all spread across four sides bursting with heavyweight tracks from legends and new names alike.
