Review: Budapest based jazz outfit Jazzbois is made up of Bencze Molnar on Rhdoes and synth, Viktor Sagi on bass, and Tamas Czirjak on drums. For a number of years now they have been working together and getting ever tighter, and this debut album is a pertinent showcasing of their skills. It was recorded during some stoned live sessions in the space of just one evening and has the laid back vibe you would expect of such a process: slow motion drum tumbles, smooth bass riffs and celestial keys that gently twinkle up top and encourage plenty of reflection.

Review: Following the runaway success of last year's "Bombed In The Blunt Shelter" compilation, the team behind Budapest-based Blunt Shelter Records returns with another collection of contemporary hip-hop beats. The double-album set mostly showcases cuts from unknown or under-celebrated beat-makers, with the 27-track set mostly focusing on the kind of hazy, jazzy and stoned instrumentals that were once the bedrock of the Ninja Tune and Mo' Wax catalogues. There is, then, a definite "back to the '90s" flex, but when the quality of the tracks is as good as those on show here we've nothing but praise.
