DVS NME - "Song For The Doomed" (4:43)
Review: Latvian label Blind Allies have been on a roll since first committing to their various artists series to wax two years ago. On their latest release, the A side is given over to UK producer Dexterous Numerics, who offers up two tracks of dark and emotive electro heavy on leads and atmospherics. On the flip, Lectromagnetique takes a freakier turn into sparse, dungeon-ready acid electro that should appeal to fans of Bunker Records et al. Davide Piras has a lighter touch on "Arcade" that draws from the Drexciya school of thought, and DVS NME's "Song For The Doomed" rolls out an expressive strain of braindance as considered as it is punchy.

Cyphon - "Drift" (5:28)
Polytunnel - "Lehman" (4:40)
DVS NME - "Ice Castles" (4:28)
Review: Latvian label Blind Allies is putting its home country on the map with searing electro offerings from a range of fresh and emergent names. This hefty new 12" packs in plenty with Davide Piras racing out of the blocks with his white hot 'Neocrest.' There is retro electro funk with plenty of analogue roughness from Olloy, Obzerv races to the cosmos on sleek lines and tight snares, while Cyphon goes for a more balmy and atmospheric vibe. Two further tunes from Polytunnel and DVS NME offer acid tinged and bumping electro workouts respectively.

CYBEREIGN - "Accelerate" (4:54)
Rnbws - "Little Things Important" (4:49)
Universo - "Mercury Retrograde" (4:57)
Review: Latvia's Blind Allies continues its series of crucial various artist trips into the underbelly of ravey electro, with another cast of underground operators on the buttons. RNBWS brings a hefty dose of old-skool bleep magic to "Engage", before stripping things back for the cool and deadly "Backtrack". Caprithy's "Smoky Sunday" has a seductively sinister side to it, while CYBEREIGN's "Accelerate" keeps things tuff and taut. RNBWS returns on the tripped out "Little Things Important", and Universo completes the set with the vintage tape-warped tones of "Mercury Retrograde".

-=UHU=- - "Uncode" (4:22)
-=UHU=- - "What Is Electro" (4:17)
Obergman & Luke Eargoggle - "Press Play" (3:49)
Review: Blind Allies have been steadily amassing an impressive catalogue of various artists 12"s that plumb the depths of dirty, underground electro with a particular focus on their native Latvia. On this sixth installment the star of the show is -=UHU=-, a long serving electro warrior who has appeared on Body Control and International Deejay Gigolo Records in the past. There's plenty of collaborations, including partnerships with Kan3da and Luke Eargoggle, as well as solo -=UHU=- tracks, while Obergman and Eargoggle also team up for a tune. All in all, this is serious, gutter dwelling machine funk from a heavyweight cast that demands the attention of all discerning beat freaks.

Saturated Faces (5:24)

Review: Blind Allies are an unstoppable force in the slimy underbelly of electro right now, and they're back with another shell shocker on the bounce from Zeta Reticula's "Sonic Assault". This time around Void Cells (Bristol-based Latvian producer Aleksejs Apolskis) makes a pointed return following the digital release Perception Model back in 2018. The drums rain down hard on this record, not least on punchy electro bruiser "SHE". NX1 offers up a rabble rousing techno twist on the original, before "Saturated Faces" opens up the B side with another fist-shaking slab of 4/4. Behind the grubby demeanour of the music lies some serious craft, making this a must-check for those looking in the more interesting corners of the electro boom.

Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged, but otherwise in excellent condition***

If you can feel a chill in the air it must mean there's more arcane sorcery being cooked up in the Blind Allies labs. This Latvian label are surely providing some of the strongest strains of pitch-black underground electro from lesser known operators in the machine funk catacombs. On this new various artists 12", White Mane Horse and Deputy Bender fire off sleek and sinister rhythms while UHU has a little tongue in cheek fun behind the veil of icy whispered vocals and nervy bleeps on "No Body Knows Electro". Theory Of Noise sound taut and robotic, Olloy keeps things plush but noirish, Rnbws fires off a high-definition sound and Theory Of Noise returns for the simply brilliant "Mission".

Review: Slovenian electro master Zeta Reticula has been on the rampage over the past few years, spraying machine funk bullets all over the shop on labels like Bass Agenda, Electrix and Mechatronica. Now the man otherwise known as Umek lands on the rapid-rising Latvian label Blind Allies with the first dedicated artist EP after a string of various artist 12"s. The vibe is nocturnal and noirish across these five bombs, staying true to both the Reticula sound and Blind Allies. There are plenty of playful synth blips and bleeps wriggling their way through the mix too - this is far from morose dungeon electro, but something more like mutant body poppers for darkened souls.
