Review: Norwegian label Beatservice is a shining light in a Scandi-scene that is full of stars. Proof, should you need it, comes from this new album from Flunk. It is a lush mix of downtempo, disco, Balearic and indie that takes you to a better place, away from the gloom of an October afternoon in the UK. The stylised female vocals lend each tune soul and character over the gentle rhythms and acoustic guitars, the subtle basslines and floating chords. It's the sort of album that works as well on cold days as it does on warm afternoons.
