Review: Mancunian pair AnD add Delsin sub-label Ann Aimee to their increasingly impressive profile with the suitably named Ard Core Krew 12". If you've been tracing Andrew Bowen and Dimitri Poumplidis' sonic trajectory as AnD for the past 12 months you'll know the pair have come to champion a sense of dynamic tension that's been unmatched by anyone else currently operating in UK techno circles. The Ard Core Krew 12" demonstrates there is plenty of fire left in their cannon yet with all three productions matching the ferocious nature of their recent binary encoded release 002/0202/0222, while purposely refraining from the hardstyle beats heard on their second Black Sun Records 12? Nebula
Estuary
Review: Two lots of high quality, dark, atmospheric techno deepness. 'Nebula' is the more straight-forward track, the thick pounding rhythm
and vibes make it end up somewhere between Mills and Maurizio: raw, straight techno. 'Estuary' gives some deeper dubby vibes.
Ann Aimee, the Delsin sub-label has been revived and is once again an outlet for the more experimental sides of Delsin's electronic
music. After the superb, fine release by James Kumo, another fine debut EP, This release is from Delta Funktionen, who goes, in real
life, by the name of Niels Luinenburg, a 23 year-old, living in the northern part of Holland. He's inspired by Maurizio, Basic Channel,
Convextion, Carl Craig, Steve Rachmad, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, and others. The superb artwork is done by another Delta, namely
Delta Inc. Supported by Francois K, Lawrence, Laurent Garnier amongst others.

Conflict Data
Review: Delta Funktionen caused ripples of excitement in the techno underground with his Setup One: Decorum release a few months back, and here we see the Dutch producer return with his second Setup 12", entitled Fusion. It's tough, raw and unrelenting - everything you'd expect from Niels Luinenburg. "Devolution" kicks things off with some robust, industrial-strength bass, sounding similar to Karl O'Connor's "Haiku" track on Sandwell District a couple of years back under the Kalon pseudonym. "Evoltuion" maintains a more linear progression, a thumping, granite hard kick drum underscoring gurgling mechanics and tense snares interspersed by robotic bleeps. B Side opener "Theatre" offers plenty of thrills, with beatless interludes building swathes of tension before returning into a rock solid banging throb, while "Conflict Data" rounds off the 12" with an intergalactic exploration of machine funk, taking its cue from Jeff Mills' Something In The Sky series and bathing it in a shuffling sunrise groove.

Another Dimension
Miss Communication
Minds Into Meltdown
Data Economics
Review: The third in Delta Funktionen's Setup One series maintains the Dutch producer's ability to make deep, robust techno that simply works on the dancefloor. "Another Dimension" contains those idiosyncratic rasping hats and disturbing vocal cuts - and like all techno primed for the floor, the beat just feels that little bit more robust when it comes back in after the breakdown. "Miss Communication", up next, contains some thunderous drums rolling deep beneath radar bleeps before the unbeatably named "Minds Into Meltdown" maintains the sweaty momentum on the flip. The toughest of the lot though has to be "Data Economics", one of the most weird, paranoid, downright brilliant dancefloor tracks we've heard all year. Just don't do what we did and accidentally blast it through the office speakers at 45 RPM...

Review: The people who got to know Niels 'Delta Funktionen' Luinenberg through his ponderous Electromagnetic Radiation release or the adeptly programmed warm-up sets posted online may be surprised by the approach on Inertia. However, its direction could hardly be described as unexpected. The second volume of Electromagnetic Radiation and the grimy warehouse techno of Silhouette make perfectly clear that the Dutch DJ/producer likes to play it hard as well as deep. In that regard, Niels is not alone, and this mix, which consists solely of exclusive material, shows that a whole new wave of European techno producers is on the same wavelength. The mixture of the musical and forceful is audible from the outset, with textured chords unfolding over an angular rhythm on Sascha Rydell's "Rainy Days", a few tracks later as Cosmin TRG does his best mid to late 90s Ian Pooley techno impersonation over a rolling, warm bass and midway through on Peter Van Hoesen's "Last One at 1080", where evocative but eerie pads build to the backdrop of a prowling groove. It's a stunning finish to a mix that effortlessly balances the hard and the soulful.

Review: Three times deep obscure electronics - Think along the lines of the latest Carl Craig or Marcel Dettmann productions. Deep!
Revived is the Delsin sub-label Ann Aimee! Again an outlet for the more experimental sides of Delsin's electronic music.
James Kumo is a new talent from Manchester, and debuts with 'Kumomusic Vol 1' and these three tight productions.
'Fluid' is a fluffy deep house track, '45 Days' is all dark and mean, while 'Koma' brings in stripped-down, spacey, hypnotic synth galore.

Mercelus - "24/7"
Sigha - "Finding Myself"
Redshape - "Static"
Area Forty One - "CNTCT"
Review: The second Ann Aimee Intertia sampler arrives, with four rugged cuts from Marcelus, Sigha, Redshape and Area Forty_One - all plucked from Delta Funktionen's upcoming mix for the Delsin sub-label. "24/7" by Parisian producer Marcelus opens proceedings; a loopy, visceral and hypnotic slab of concrete funk which shares A-Side spoils with Sigha's Sandwell District-esque paranoid throbber "Finding Myself" - one of those tracks where you discover new subtle sonic touches with each listen. Flip over for the 12"s most incendiary moment - the dusty thump of "Static" by Redshape - before Area Forty_One serves up our pick of the bunch: "CNTCT" is epic, there's simply no other word for it.

Kneecap
Press Up
Review: A curious facet of UK producer Mosca's career thus far is his rise to his current position has been achieved by releasing music on labels no more than once. For some such label hopping endeavours would be a hindrance, but that's certainly not the case with Mosca and you can't really have any qualms with Mosca's CV when it includes appearances on Night Slugs, Numbers, Hypercolour and 3024. Late into 2013 and Mosca has resurfaced with his first release of the year and somewhat surprisingly it's on Delsin sub-label Ann Aimee. Given the label, it's unsurprising to hear Mosca is in full on dark room techno mode with The Thousand Year Wait EP with all three tracks poised with the sort of wall rattling intent you'd hear from the Fachwerk crew. "Kneecap" is a real highlight!

Skudge - "Pollution"
Conforce - "When It Appeared"
Cosmin TRG - "Plaisir Interdit"
Sascha Rydell - "Rainy Days"
Review: Here's us waxing lyrical about the third Interia sampler being the best of the lot, and then the fourth one lands on our laps and now we're all confused. Skudge, Conforce, Cosmin TRG and Sascha Rydell all contribute tracks here, with Swedish duo Skudge opening the A-Side with the sparse rattle of "Pollution", which is ably supported by the twitching minimalism of "When It Appeared" by Conforce. Up next, Cosmin TRG adds to his growing techno oeuvre with "Plaisir Interdit", which, much like his recent material on 50 Weapons, combines restless, swinging hats with bowel-shaking low frequencies. Finally, Sascha Rydell (the only artist on this 12" who hasn't released an album this year) drops "Rainy Days", and rather then being overawed by the esteemed company, he revels in it, turning in a majestic slice of atmospheric, contemplative techno.
