BPMF - "Liza On Clouds" (6:20)
Invisble Menders - "Three On Three" (9:10)
Memphis - "Altered States" (7:03)
Miro SundayMusiq - "From Behind The Corner" (8:39)
Review: Following an excellent EP from Memphis, Animals On Psychedelics returns with more weird and wonderful party fare from the outer reaches. This time it's a various artists release that brings together all the producers involved in the label so far, while also introducing BPMF to the fold with the woozy, rubbery synth shapes of "Liza On Clouds." Jane Fitz and Dom Ahtuam's Invisible Menders project presents the rolling, psyched out melodics of "Three On Three," while Memphis pushes further into experimental territory with the wonderfully fractured "Altered States." That leaves it to Miro SundayMusiq to complete the EP with the wave-meets-Italo tones of "From Behind The Corner," a perfectly noirish flourish to finish a sterling record.

Review: Carl Hardy's Animals On Psychedelics label doesn't rush things. It has taken several years to get to release number seven, but you won't find us comparing. It is a prime example of quality over quantity and here again with have another timeless, mind-melting release designed for whacked out dance floors at 5am. Vladimir Gnatenko is back once again after previous impressive outings and both his cuts are molten affairs with liquid synths and neon colours over supple drums. He also collaborates twice with Kai Noob on a pair of similarly tripped out techno wormholes.

Midnight Drive (Mender's re-stitch)
Review: Animals On Psychedelics is a new label out of Cleethorpes, run by DJ/promoter Carl_H. Through a combination of name, artwork and musical output, Animals On Psychedelics focuses on the more tripped out, spacey side of electronic music. The label's debut release is a two-track EP from London duo Invisible Menders, otherwise known as Dom Ahtuam & Jane Fitz, who have also released on Porn Wax and BOE Recordings.

Daruka (SYO remix) (8:07)
Weather Obsessives (Eversines remix) (6:49)
Review: Carl Hardy's Animals On Psychedelics is surely the best dance music label to have ever been run out of the seaside town of Cleethorpes. The releases are few and far between, but you won't find us moaning because the quality is always top-notch. Invisible Menders is a low-key but high-quality pair made up of revered DJ Jane Fitz and producer Dom Ahtuam. They cook up a mind-altering piece of deep, supple techno here that takes you on a real cosmic adventure. The SYO mix is a slick and high-speed electro rework while 'Weather Obsessives' (Eversines remix) heads off into the future on turbulent bass and mangled synth lines.

Review: Having initially snuck his jams out in the early 90s as Memphis, Paul Williams has been around longer than most and his excursions into ambient music are definitely worthy of attention. As well as a 12" on Mirror Zone, this release marks 24 years since we last heard from Memphis and it's startling how relevant the sound is now. It's dated for sure, but only in the same way as much of the music you'll hear our favourite deep digging DJs reach for. There's a heady, trancey pulse to these productions, but without any naff strings or cheesy leads - this is proper trip-out box jam business from an unsung champion.

This Is Not Butter Carolin
Creamy Dreams
Review: Animals On Psychedelics snaps up a debut appearance from Miro Sundaymusiq for its second release, delving further into the label's mission statement of "the more tripped out, spacey side of electronic music." Miro opens up proceedings with "This Is Not Butter Carolin", a twinkling roller with subtle disco undertones and a cheeky nod to electro rubbed into the rhythm. So far, so psychedelic. "Creamy Dreams" is no slouch in the cosmic department either, loaded with bubbling arpeggios aimed skywards and using a sprightly set of drums to help the mellifluous tones along.
