Review: Five Deez mastermind Fat Jon's solo album originally only available on CD in Japan is now released here in the States on both vinyl and CD. Instrumental hip hop in the style of DJ Shadow, Krush, Cam and the like, Fat Jon does not disappoint. As always, Fat Jon has made an album that has its own sound and is completely unique from his other works. He even adds vocals to a few of its tracks giving them added feeling and dimension. This album is a mix of hip hop and electronic music which Fat Jon is using to re-define what people think hip hop is and open listeners minds to new possibilities of sound. The album title fits the music perfectly. Fat Jon has found a way to use his albums as puzzle pieces that create the whole of what he is bringing to the world of music.

Review: Due to popular demand, Ample Soul drops the instrumental version of Five Deez's new-age hip hop album from early 2006. Produced by FAT JON, these instrumentals are the backdrop that inspired the whole concept for the "transmission from anywhere" album. 'Kommunicator' is a solid listen from beginning to end.

Review: Produced by Fat Jon the ample soul physician. This record is the prequel to the Five Deez album "Koolmotor". This is a perfect collection of songs from when the Deez were mere lumps of coal evolving into what they are today. This album was originally recorded between the years of 1993 and 1998. A lot of this record was recorded by the Deez while they were still in school. It has performances from members who are no longer in the group as well as a guest appearance from Mood. The charm of this album is the complete raw energy of it. It's unpolished, unrefined and completely interesting. This work shows the listener where the Five Deez were heading. It's a refreshing look into the past of one of hip hop's most daring groups.

Review: Looking for a place to relieve himself, Fat Jon stumbled into a café in Berlin and met the German R&B soul sensation, Amleset Solomon. After talking for a few minutes, they discovered they are musicians with a similar passion for music and the music-making process. At that time, Amleset was signed to EMI and invited Fat Jon onto her production team. Fat Jon, in turn, invited her to perform on the Five Deez album "Kinkynasti". Amleset blessed the tracks "Funky" and "I Like It". They decided to form a group in 2002. That group is Rebel Clique. This name represents both of the artists' attitudes toward the music industry as well as the idea that music has to sound certain ways to be accepted. It's a group which doesn't claim one particular style or sound but uses Amleset's R&B background and Fat Jon's hip hop background to create music which can't be described as either. Now they are ready to present their debut album "Unique Connection" which explains their sound as well as their musical approach. Throughout this project, Amleset's skill as a writer and a vocalist shine alongside Fat Jon's hypnotic production.
